Stakeholders in the education sector have raised concern over the shortage of teachers in public primary schools in Lagos state, urging the state government to expedite action on the recent development.

They spoke at a breakfast meeting and Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR Awards ceremony organized under the Support Our School Initiative programme of the Lagos State Ministry of Education, held at the Lagos City Hall, Lagos.

The stakeholders explained that the teachers in public primary schools are important to any child education, saying “this is where a child education is shaped. And a shortage of teachers at this level does the current pupils in public primary schools no good.”

They argued that the population in public schools is increasing daily and there is need to employ more teachers to complement the population explosion.
