Boko Haram has recently embarked upon a spate of attacks. A couple of days ago, they murdered several students in a boarding school in Buni Yadi. The terrorist group, which has been campaigning for Islamic rule in northern Nigeria, has been blamed for killing at least 50 people in a busy market in the town of Maiduguri yesterday.
Although no group has yet officially claimed responsibility for the attack, all fingers are pointing to Boko Haram.
The attack, which featured two very powerful explosions, happened at a crowded market near the airport.
The bombs were hidden inside a truck full of wood and inside a saloon car. As people tried to rescue victims of the first blast, the second bomb was detonated.
At the time of the explosions many people were crowded in a video hall in the area watching football. There was also a wedding taking place nearby.
