The House of Representatives is considering amending the constitution to allow direct funding of the security forces.

The Nigerian government no longer has any excuse for failing to stop the “cowardice” by extremist group, Boko Haram, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, said Tuesday in a stinging rebuke of the government’s handling of a bloody campaign that saw the killing of at least 29 school children last month, amongst many other attacks.
Mr. Tambuwal said federal lawmakers must be prepared to act to bring an end to the killings.
